What is up with the icons in the comments?
These are Gravatar icons.  Gravatar is a 3rd party site that allows you
to register an email address, and associated it with an image of your choosing.  
So when you make a comment on a blog or forum that works with Gravatar,
your specific icon will be displayed.  Go here: Gravatar
